Our Principal

My appointment as Principal of Kyneton High School comes at an exciting time of change and innovation.

Our community has high aspirations for our school and our School has entered into a new phase in which we implement an exciting vision for teaching and learning, enhanced by a program of building works which will see a significant improvement in our School facilities.

School Location

Kyneton High School is located one hour North West of Melbourne in the picturesque township of Kyneton, along the Calder Highway corridor.

From Melbourne we are an easy 55 minute dual highway drive from the Bolte Bridge without a traffic light or traffic delays. From Bendigo with the opening of the dual highway it’s an easy 45 min drive. From Ballarat through Daylesford it will take 55 minutes again with no traffic.

Our History

Our school was originally established in 1912 on a site in Piper Street. In 1928 the school was relocated to the current site.

In 1966 a technical component was added to the school and it became known as Kyneton Technical High School. In 1990 when the Victorian Certificate of Education was introduced at the school, it was rebranded as Kyneton Secondary College.

The school reverted to its original name in 2019.
