Years 7 & 8

Years 7 & 8

The focus of the curriculum in Years 7 and 8 is taking part in a breadth of experiences across the Victorian Curriculum Learning Areas.

Students are allocated to a Home Group, which is led by one of their core teachers, and they stay in this same class of students for all of their subjects. Students take part in two Home Group classes per week, where Personal and Interpersonal learning skills are taught using resources from the Berry St. program.

Students study the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Humanities, Science, Health and Physical Education and Languages (Indonesian). Students also experience the following ‘taster’ subjects in a rotation in the Arts and Technologies Learning Areas: Drama, Music and Visual Art and Design, Automotive, Creative Technologies, Food Technology, Metals & Plastics, Trade Drawing and Woodwork.
